Lee Allen Eyewear is a collaboration between Lee Allen Kuczewski and Declan Halpin.  The two met while exploring their love of experimental music in 2004.  At the time, Lee was creating custom eyewear for private clients and Declan was an emerging studio painter.

Their small recording studio, in a run-down textile mill, fostered the beginning of their creative relationship.  It soon became clear that their creative sensibilities and mutual talents could be harnessed to launch an exciting line of eyewear.  It was at this point that Lee and Declan formed Lee Allen Eyewear.

Lee Kuczewski is an optician and designer based between Providence, RI and Brooklyn, NY.  While earning a degree in Anthropology he started his optical career working as a lens technician grinding prescriptions into lens blanks.  Within three years he had completed apprenticeship training and received his optician’s license.  His early work included custom frames in a variety of materials including found objects, buffalo horn, aluminum, and recycled plastics.  Lee is the Creative Director of Lee Allen Eyewear.

Declan Halpin graduated from Appalachian State University with a BFA in Metalsmithing, Painting, and Sculpture.  Born in Sligo, Ireland, Declan grew up in rural North Carolina and now lives in New Bedford, MA.  With a broad understanding of CAD and manufacturing, he has provided development services to some of the largest names in the jewelry industry.  He is the Director of Operations at Lee Allen Eyewear.
